Kevin and Matthew Gear Up for the Blue Diamond Tour

Excitement is in the air as Kevin and Matthew prepare to take on the Blue Diamond Tour, a thrilling three-day cycling race happening on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of September. We caught up with these two riders to get a glimpse of what drives them to participate in this event.

Kevin’s Debut Tour:

For Kevin, the Blue Diamond Tour marks his first-ever tour, and he couldn’t be more thrilled. When asked why he chose this race, his answer was simple: a passion for cycling and a desire to keep the racing spirit alive. With many races canceled recently, Kevin believes it’s essential to be part of the action.

He’ll be racing on his trusty Winspace bike, and his category of choice is the elite/u23 category. When we asked about his personal target for the race, Kevin’s commitment shone through. He aims to give it his all, striving to be the best he can be and make Winspace proud.

One unique aspect of Kevin’s participation is his jersey choice. He’ll be sporting a white jersey on Thursday, a black one on Friday, and back to white on Saturday. Mark your calendars, as the race starts at 09:00 on Thursday, 07:00 on Friday, and another 07:00 kickoff on Saturday. Kevin also mentioned the possibility of setting up a gazebo on to allow all those interested, to chat with us and view some of our range of bikes!

Matthew’s Return to Racing:

Matthew, on the other hand, sees the Blue Diamond Tour as an excellent opportunity to return to racing after a year-long hiatus. With the race practically at his doorstep, he couldn’t resist the chance to gain valuable experience and participate in this three-day stage race.

Matthew’s race schedule includes a 116km race on Thursday, followed by a 60-minute crit on Friday, and wrapping it up with a 98km road race on Saturday. He’s particularly looking forward to the stage 2 crit at Zwartkop raceway, where he hopes to achieve a notable result.

Matthew will be riding his Winspace SLC 2.0 disc brake bike, proudly wearing his Winspace kit. It’s clear that both Kevin and Matthew are passionate about their racing and eager to showcase their skills on the Blue Diamond Tour stage.
